Through my work in the Finance sector, I have, in recent years, been involved in social mobility and diversity initiatives within the industry. I moved to Jersey in 2015 and through my involvement in some of these projects was surprised to learn that there is a full range of social support needs in the Island. This is how I first came to hear of Brighter Futures. I have personal experience of how important it is to have support for parents and children to enable social mobility and provide opportunities in life. My own childhood was stable and loving but far from privileged and my best friend grew up in a single-parent family in sometimes very difficult financial circumstances so I know first-hand how the kind of support offered by Brighter Futures can make all the difference to families when they most need it. I joined the Board in 2019 and am proud to represent Brighter Futures and look forward to working with the rest of the Board to maintain and improve the services offered in the years ahead.
