We are delighted to share that Judith Hanson, Trusts and Grants Manager at Brighter Futures, has been nominated for Volunteer/Fundraiser of the Year at the 2026 Pride of Jersey Awards.

Judith joined Brighter Futures in 2018 and has played a key role in helping to secure the funding needed to keep our services available to parents, carers, children and young people across the Island.

With Brighter Futures costing more than £1.1 million each year to run, fundraising is essential to ensuring we can continue providing our programmes and one-to-one support free of charge to those who need them.

Judith's role includes developing relationships with trusts, grant funders, businesses and supporters, alongside helping to organise fundraising events and initiatives that generate vital income for the charity.

She has also been involved in developing and supporting initiatives including our Dads Club and Summer Breakfast Club, helping Brighter Futures respond to the changing needs of families in Jersey.

Judith was nominated by Sarah Nibbs, who described her as the “mainstay of an essential Jersey charity” and highlighted the energy, tenacity and fundraising skills she brings to Brighter Futures.

For everyone at Brighter Futures, the nomination is also a wonderful opportunity to recognise the enormous amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to generate the income needed to deliver our services.

Public voting for the Pride of Jersey Awards opens at 10am on Friday 25 September and closes at 11:59pm on Tuesday 6 October 2026.
