Brighter Futures Team Nominated for Community Champion of the Year 2026
We are delighted to share that the Brighter Futures team has been nominated for the Community Champion of the Year Award 2026, recognising the dedication and commitment of our team and the difference they make to children, young people and families across Jersey.
The nomination, submitted anonymously, highlights the work Brighter Futures has carried out across the Island for more than 15 years, providing early intervention support that helps strengthen families before challenges escalate into crisis.
Each week, around 160 families and more than 270 children access Brighter Futures' services. Through our programmes, one-to-one support and wider family activities, our team works alongside parents and carers to help build confidence, strengthen relationships, improve wellbeing and create brighter futures for their children.
The nomination also recognises the wider impact this early support can have across our community, helping to reduce pressure on health, education and social care services.
Despite increasing demand and ongoing funding challenges, our team continues to develop our services, build partnerships and find new ways to ensure families receive the support they need.
Perhaps the most meaningful words within the nomination describe Brighter Futures as:
“More than a charity, it is a cornerstone of Jersey’s community.”
For our team, this nomination is particularly special because it recognises the collective effort behind Brighter Futures – from our coordinators and crèche team to our operational, administrative, fundraising and leadership teams, alongside the volunteers, funders, corporate partners and supporters who make our work possible.
Most importantly, it reflects the courage and commitment of the families who put their trust in Brighter Futures and work alongside us to make positive and lasting changes.
We are incredibly proud to see the Brighter Futures team recognised as a Community Champion of the Year 2026 nominee.
Whatever the outcome of the awards, being nominated in recognition of the difference our team makes to Island families is something we are very proud of.
Thank you to our anonymous nominator for putting Brighter Futures forward, and to everyone who continues to stand alongside us as we support Jersey families to build brighter futures.
