Walk on the Bright side.
Brighter Futures would be delighted for you to join us again for something special as we return for our second year of Walk on the Bright Side, our 5K walk along Jersey’s beautiful promenade in support of Brighter Futures.
Once again, we are aiming to create a vibrant River of Orange and make a visible statement of solidarity with local families.
- The walk will take place on Saturday 8 August 2026.
- Participants are asked to meet at 9.00 am,
- with the walk starting promptly at 9.30 am,
- Registration on the day will take place on the opposite side of the Elizabeth Castle Ferry Kiosk, adjacent to the public toilets in St Helier.
- Participation is free, with optional donations welcomed from those who wish to contribute.
- The dress code is simple and unapologetic. Bright orange!
This event is more than a walk. It is an opportunity to come together, to show practical support for families across the Island, and to raise awareness of the work Brighter Futures continues to deliver within the Jersey community. Whether you walk, waddle, run, or dance your way through the 5K route, every step helps reinforce the importance of connection, visibility, and shared responsibility. The more orange on display, the stronger the message.
Along the route there will be a number of Sticker Stops, where children will receive an achievement sticker for the distance they have completed. For those with shorter legs who may not manage the full route, it will be possible to turn back at a Sticker Stop and return to La Frégate, where they will still receive their special completion sticker.
We encourage you to bring friends and family and to wear your brightest orange. Let us make this second year even more memorable than the first.
Please let us know if you are able to attend, as we would very much like to see you there. Any enquiries can be directed to Marcel at m.burcur@brighterfutures.org.je
