Conference of the Mermaids

A Brighter Futures Drama collaboration with the Jersey Arts Centre

This dramatic theatre piece is directed by Daniel Austin and written by the Brighter Futures Drama Team using the ‘stream of consciousness’ methods.

Following on from the success of “What Are We Going to Do with All Our Children” (2015) and “I’d Rather Not Know!” (2016) this new work explores resourcefulness, resilience, survival, mermaids and all the things that the team of 12 extraordinary women have seen and experienced.

The Brighter Futures Drama group formed three years ago as a therapeutic means of constructively sharing real life stories. These stories were then play-written by Daniel Austin resulting in raw and direct accounts of the lives of every day women. Each play takes 11 months to perfect with little editing of the original stories.

Be prepared for occasional strong language and content that will take you through the full range of emotions.
